Our team emphasizes personalized, evidence-based approaches tailored to meet each child’s unique developmental, sensory, motor, and communication needs. Kimberly Cossmann MOT, OTR/L
Kimberly, known to many as "Miss Kim," has dedicated her life to working with children. Her journey began at a young age as a babysitter, nanny, and preschool teacher. These experiences sparked her passion for helping children grow and thrive. She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2013, and has since built a diverse career grounded in both evidence-based practice and creative, child-centered care.

As an occupational therapist, Kimberly values a holistic approach that considers the whole child. Addressing their sensory, emotional, and developmental needs through individualized interventions. Her professional experience spans a wide range of settings, including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, school-based services, therapeutic day schools, and outpatient pediatric clinics.

She has pursued advanced training in sensory integration through the University of Southern California, is certified in the Size Matters Handwriting Program, and has specialized training in reflex integration through play and Cranial Sacral Therapy. Kimberly is passionate about creating meaningful, functional goals for each child and empowering families to support development at home and in the community.
Tess Valente MS, CCC-SLP
Tess is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), where she is also an active member. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her master’s degree from Northwestern University.
Tess has gained valuable experience working in diverse clinical settings, including pediatric private practice, public schools, inpatient rehabilitation, and skilled nursing facilities. She has worked with clients ranging from preschoolers to adults, with a particular focus on working with children with orofacial myofunctional and feeding disorders, as well as speech and language disorders. Tess is currently accepting new clients, ages 18 months through adulthood.
Outside of work, Tess enjoys spending quality time with her husband and puppy, traveling, and playing pickleball.
Eileen Johnson, PT, DPT
Eileen received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in Downers Grove in 2010 and her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
She joins us with a variety of experience gained at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab Pediatric center, in-home Early Intervention services, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, and Next Steps Chicago. During her time in these settings, she has worked with patients across the lifespan with a variety of neurological, developmental, and orthopedic impairments throughout their levels of recovery. She has a special interest in complex diagnoses and neurological rehabilitation.
When not in the clinic, Eileen enjoys staying active through exercise, traveling with her husband, and listening to podcasts. She and her husband are busy raising their three young children and a puppy.

Speech Therapy
At our practice, we take a holistic approach to communication and oral function by combining speech therapy, feeding therapy, and orofacial myofunctional therapy. These areas often overlap, challenges with speech sounds, chewing, swallowing, or breathing can all stem from the way the muscles of the mouth, tongue, and face work together.
Speech therapy helps children develop clear, confident communication by improving articulation, language skills, and speech sound production.
Physical Therapy
At Little Sprouts Pediatrics, our pediatric physical therapy services are designed to support children in reaching their highest potential through movement, play, and targeted intervention. We specialize in helping children improve strength, coordination, balance, and motor planning. Whether they’re working on sitting, crawling, walking, or more advanced skills, we believe therapy should be engaging, functional, and child-centered. Our sessions incorporate fun, meaningful activities that challenge and motivate your child while building foundational skills for lifelong mobility and independence.
